Could you imagine a world that consisted only of pure darkness. To be unable to use sight.
No one would be afraid of the dark, because no one has ever known light.
How would you appraise a person without sight? Their voice, their skin, their features. Their personality. How would a guy check a girl out? Would he be able to see the unending beauty of her bottom? She wouldn't be in any position to strike a pose. She wouldn't need to wear any makeup. How would a girl check out a guy out? By the roughness of his stubble? Would it matter how tall you are? What you're wearing? what you look like?
What about ballet? What about music? Gymnastics? Sports? How would you see passion? How would watching a musical be any different from a CD? Would we have electricity?
To live in a world of darkness would mean living in a world without heat.
Living in darkness reduces one's life to simplicity. Reduces one's resources. reduces one's capability. If you were unable to see a cliff wouldn't you fall right over. If you went swimming and couldn't see the sharks wouldn't you die.
Would we become like bats. Earthworms. Creatures of darkness.
No moon, no romance. No books. Would we even walk, i wonder. Would we reproduce? Could we love?
Something for you to think about. How precious light is, to know the world as we do today, how vital light is to experience our greatest memories.

Romance wouldn't disappear without light. Maybe with darkness, our tendency to judge based on physical outlooks will be lesser. Or maybe we'll find some other ways of creating a judgement. Humans, after all. I quite fancy the idea of not being able to see your significant other, but rather, hear and feel what really matters. But then again, I've my quirks :P I like this post woman-who-finished-her-ee. :)
ReplyDeletehuman desires will never disappear no matter what the cause. there would still be love, jelousy and even some form of prejudice. its all human nature. but hey dont get me wrong, im not emo-ing out here:P imagine the endless fun we could have playing hide and seek :D
