Migration is not a bad thing. But flying to your migration point- now that's a different story.
Of all things, Those In Authority chose, despite my fierce protests, to take a budget airplane back to penang.
And I know, for some people, that's just the story of their life- never taking Singaporean Quality, just lousy old Asian Air.
And now it was about to become mine.
First, I sent off about a dozen smses to announce my departure.
Come on- the QUEEN was leaving.
Plus I was really trying to finish my card balance.
We flagged a cab and went all the way to the woodlands checkpoint. And I overheard my parents saying something about taking the MRT.
hey, I'm fine with the Mrt, except when I'm carrying about a tonne of things and with the two mosquitoes.
HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!
All along the way I got the replies for the smses. My phone was making so much noise that Those In Authority eventually ended up glaring at me with those specially designed will-you-please-turn-that-thing-off looks.
okayokay. I surrender.
But I switched it back on after 5 minutes. I really didn't want to lose any of those precious smses.
At the checkpoint, i got really really annoyed by all the waiting. It was hot. It was dirty. It was annoying. And I never really liked Malaysia. You can't even carry a bag around in case it gets snatched.
Or so my dad says...
At the airport in Johor Bahru, the plane was delayed so I ended up waiting some more.
By the time we got to Penang, it was 10 something.
Then we found out that the music stand we checked in was missing.
So I waited some more.
After that my dad went to get his stuff that he had left in a friend's apartment, whom he had been staying with when we weren't around.
So I waited some more in the car.
At this point of time, I was getting really hyper, so I ended up looking at people and then hissing, 'your zipper' over and over again.
When we finally got to the condo, I was dead tired. The good thing was that the place was pretty nice.
Home, I thought.
But somewhere in the back of my head, there was this tiny voice that objected and said, never...
